Once-a-month Sunday Session at Saint Brigid’s

Once-a-month Sunday Session at Saint Brigid’s
Sunday 11th November  2018   TIME: 2:00pm

Our once-a-month Sunday Session at Saint Brigid’s for the upcoming fall and winter 2018/2019 season will start on Sunday, 14th October 2018  at 2:00 pm

We start with a 1-hour slow session for beginners or those of us learning a new instrument or for those who just want to explore playing a reel or jig etc. at a slower pace than normal.

We finish off the afternoon with a regular session for approx.. 1 ½ hours.

We believe players of Irish Traditional Music at all levels will enjoy the music and associated conversation at this session.

Please feel free to invite any friends who might be interested and are not on the list, and of course those who might enjoy a drink while they listen to the music!

Typical session instruments include the fiddle, flute, tin whistle, concertina, button accordion, mandolin, guitar, bouzouki, and bodhran. The repertoire consists largely of Irish dance music—reels, jigs, slip jigs, hornpipes, polkas, waltzes, barn dances—as well as slow airs.
